I was sad to hear that John Hughes had passed away this week.

Initially I wasn't sure how I would capture my thoughts in a post - but I knew I wanted to write something. As most of us who grew up in the 70's and 80's, I have an emotional affinity to John Hughes' movies. I can relate to his smart characters, funny situations and sharp dialogue -- especially The Breakfast Club.

I was going to write a tribute posting to Mr. Hughes. But I was humbled by a posting by Alison Byrne Fields wrote at her BLOG "We'll Know When We Get There".

Thank you Alison for providing a great tribute / story / insight to Mr. Hughes.

Thank you John for all your creativity and giving us such movie magic.
You were one of a kind.
Amen.
